20 Over 19

One major Coronet Head Large Cent (Penny) variety is the 1820/19 overdate error. This coin features an 1820 date struck on top of an 1819 date. This resulted in a very prominent portion of the underlying "1" from "19" being seen under the "2" in "20". In some cases the "1" and "8" are slightly doubled as well.

Large Date

One major variety is the 1820 Large Date Coronet Head Large Cent (Penny). This coin features a date with larger numbers. The most notable feature is that the "2" will have a flat tip which makes it easily distinguishable from the small date variety which has a curled tip on the "2".

Small Date

One major variety is the 1820 Small Date Coronet Head Large Cent (Penny). This coin features a date with smaller numbers. The most notable feature is that the "2" will have a curled tip which makes it easily distinguishable from the large date variety.
